Wow, tomorrow is the last day of October already! Start gathering up your canned food items to bring to our 4th grade food barrel. We want to support those in need a lot!

A couple of reminders: First, tomorrow is make-up picture day. If you would like to have your child's photo retaken bring the photos to school tomorrow.

Second, the Second Harvest Food Bank Drive has started!! You can donate money or food items. Please see the list below.

·      Donate funds at www.donate.shfb.org  (Choose your school.)

·      Donate food in barrels located in the office or a classroom (Single Serving, No Glass)

o     Meals in a can

o     Peanut butter

o     Tuna/canned meat

o     Canned fruits/vegetables

o     100% fruit juice

o     Low sugar cereal

Tuesday, October 16th

No homework today, tomorrow or Thursday. Two reminders - First, there is no school on Friday and second, come to the Pumpkin Patch Friday night and plan on throwing pies at me between 7:30 and 8:00! I bet you can't get me!

Monday, October 15th

This is the only day this week we'll be having homework. We promised the students that if all 4 4th grade classes had 100% participation in the H&SC Membership Drive that the reward (along with pizza) would be 2 days of no HW. Those two days will be Tuesday and Wednesday of this week!

It sounds like the Walk-a-Thon was a huge success, thanks to the marvelous parents we have at this school. Thanks to the many of you who spent countless hours preparing for it and helping out on Saturday. Your efforts make such a difference.

Study Link 3-5 and complete the "Math Test Reflections" cover page. Return the completed cover page and test tomorrow. This needs a parent signature.

Tuesday, October 9th

All this work is due Thursday. Also, tomorrow I will give the students back their math test with an attachment. They are to complete the attached paper and then bring the test back Thursday.

Thursday, October 4th

Wow, the week has just flown by! Don't forget that tomorrow is the last day to turn in Book Orders. If you can find the certificate for a free book I gave out at the beginning of the year, look for a $3 book to use it on. It is fine if that is all you order. Also due tomorrow are your State Symbols choices, and remember, we have the Unit 2 math test. There is a stomach bug that has hit the CL 4th grade. If your child isn't feeling well, be sure to take their temperature and keep them home if they have even a slight fever. We will miss them, but it is better for all of us when sick children stay home :)

Language Arts:
P - Be prepared for your meeting tomorrow and the Vocabulary Spelling test.

T - No HW again! I bet they have reading to do, though
