No new homework assigned today. See you at 6:30 tonight for the Science Fair. The students have done excellent work. You will have a marvelous time exploring with them.

Tuesday, January 29th

Reading - Due Friday: Finish your vocabulary word drawing and read to page 113 in Patty Reed's Doll.

Math - Practice Set 39 #1-15, odds only. Bring worksheet to class tomorrow and finish it in class. Study for the Unit 6 test we'll have on Thursday.

Science - Finish Science Fair project and display board. Bring everything to class in containers that keep liquids and soils from spilling on Thursday morning.

Monday, January 28th

Remember, the science Fair is this Thursday, January 31st. Students bring their boards and all display materials that morning. The classroom will be open for drop off by 8:00.

Science Test tomorrow!!

Reading - Finish the Antonym pages 15-17 that are due tomorrow. Work on the vocabulary picture that is due on Thursday.

Language Arts - Hyperbole page 36

Math - The math test is postponed to Thursday, January 31st. Finish the Review Packet and complete the odds only on Practice Set 40.

Tuesday, January 22nd

Reading - My Reading class has two assignments due this week. First, the Palace Car Acrostic Poem is due this Friday, January 25th. Second, the Antonyms worksheet given out today is due Thursday, January 24th. We will begin our next section of reading in Patty Reed's Doll on Thursday.

Language Arts - Hyperbole, page 35

Math - Study Links 6-7, 6-8 and 6-10. We are skipping 6-9.

Tuesday, January 15th

Language Arts: For my reading class, read Patty Reed's Doll to page 67, through Chapter 8. Complete this by Thursday.

Math: Study Links 6-5 and 6-6. Also, correct the Unit 5 test that was returned today.

All homework is due Thursday.

Monday, January 14th

Reading: For my reading group, read to page 45 and complete the second Depth and Complexity worksheet, if you did not finish it in class.

Math: Study Link 6-4. You do no have to draw the pictures, but you may do so, if you find it helpful. You must write the number model and decide what to do with the remainder.

Science: Complete the "Writing a Procedure" paper for your Science Fair project and return it by Thursday, January 17th.

Thursday, January 10th

Language Arts: None for my home room class. For my Reading class, read Patty Reed's Doll through page 32, the end of Chapter 3. Make a list of vocabulary words that are new to you. Write down what you think the correct meaning is from the context of the story.

Math: Complete the "Tent Trouble" task. Show your work.

Tuesday, January 8th

Since so few families are checking the blog, I'm suspending taking the time to find out the homework for all the reading classes. I will post the HW for my reading class. If your child has a different teacher and you need to know Reading HW, follow the link to that teacher's blog and see if s he listed it. Most students seem to be prepared for Reading anyway.

Language Arts: Personification page 28 and Analogies pages 9, 10 and 11.

Reading for Mrs. Parker - Synonym page 11. Finish page 10, if you did not have time to do so in class.

Math: Study Links 6-2 and 6-3. You may use any kind of division you know to complete 6-3.

Monday, January 7th

What a wonderful vacation I had. From the students, I gather that most of you also had a marvelous time with your friends and family. Now, we're back at it full speed ahead! Here's the first round of homework for 2013.

Language Arts:
Only Mrs. Walker's class has reading homework. If your child is in her class, he or she needs to read Patty Reed's Doll to page 22. Also, there is one vocabulary page to finish by Thursday.

For my regular class, there is a Preposition worksheet, page 27, to complete and bring back tomorrow.

Math: Give a parent the Family Letter for Unit 6 and complete Study Link 6-1 for tomorrow. Also, this week I sent home Math Essentials Week 8 to be completed all week and returned on Friday.
